Marc Gold, National Chair of the Canada-Israel Committee, denounces in the strongest possible terms today’s attack on Arab citizens of Israel in the Galilee Village of Shfaram by an extremist who had recently deserted from the Israeli army.
Mr. Gold said: "We extend our deepest condolences to the families of the victims and support the resolve of the Israel government to use all means to assert the rule of law and eliminate the threat of such violence. The attack on innocents regardless of race, religion or ethnicity is a very serious and intolerable breach of Israeli democracy. We call on all political and religious leadership to signal - in word and deed - their commitment to the principles of democracy and civil society."
